Bladder Botox Injections

Here in Nottingham we have been helping women with bladder urgency for many years. Over the last 5 years, we have used Bladder Botox Injections on many occasions with excellent results.

How Do Bladder Botox Injections Work?

Botox (Botulinum Toxin) relaxes the bladder muscle, just like it relaxes the facial muscles in cosmetic facial injections. This increases the bladder capacity so that ladies can go several hours without needing to pass urine. When effective (in 70% of cases) the results are dramatic. However, the procedure may need to be repeated after the Botox affect wears off (on average 9 months).

Importantly, the major difference between the effect of cosmetic facial Botox and Bladder Botox Injections is that the bladder re-trains itself particularly with simple lifestyle changes such as avoiding bladder stimulants such as caffiene and alcohol. Facial muscles do not behave in the same way.
